Founded in 1973, the American Brain Tumor Association (https://www.abta.org/)(ABTA) was the first national advocacy organization committed to funding brain tumor research and providing information and education to patients, caregivers, and their loved ones. For 50 years, the ABTA has been providing comprehensive resources that support the complex needs of brain tumor patients and caregivers, as well as the critical funding of research in the pursuit of breakthroughs in brain tumor diagnosis, treatment and care.

The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (https://cbtf.org/)(CBTF) was founded in 1988 by a group of dedicated parents, physicians, and friends to improve the treatment, quality of life, and the long term outlook for children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, support, education, and advocacy to families and survivors. In addition to providing funds to research a cure, the organization is the nation’s leader in quality of life programs for families impacted by brain and spinal cord tumors. We support families from the day of diagnosis and throughout the brain tumor journey. Our mission is dedicated to improving the treatment, quality of life and the long-term outlook for children and families affected by a brain or spinal cord tumor.
Established in 2006, the CERN Foundation (https://www.cern-foundation.org/)is now a designated program of the National Brain Tumor Society dedicated to improving the lives of those affected with ependymoma. Thanks to the efforts of an international network of collaborators, the CERN Foundation has been responsible for the publication of over 50 peer-reviewed papers in leading medical journals. This body of research has greatly advanced our understanding of ependymoma and has left a lasting legacy for future investigators to build upon.
The Ghana Brain Tumor Foundation (https://ghbtf.org/)(GBTF), founded in 2024, aims to be the leading association dedicated to funding brain tumor surgeries for underprivileged individuals and advancing cutting-edge surgical technology in the field of brain surgery within the Ghanaian community.
Gray for Glioblastoma (https://grayforglioblastoma.com/)is a 501 (c) 3 created to raise awareness for and funds to support Glioblastoma Multiforme research by accepting donations and donating to cancer care and research facilities. Our organization has gifted over $200,000 to support GBM research projects at renowned cancer centers including Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Children’s Hospital LA/Saban Research Institute and The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke. We accomplish this while simultaneously creating a hopeful and positive space and providing resources and a space of community through our social media and events.
Humor to Fight the Tumor (https://www.humortofightthetumor.org/)is dedicated to funding research and patient services that will improve the lives of brain tumor patients. We do this by raising awareness, providing support and encouragement, and offering uplifting events that provide a sense of community and hope to affected individuals and families. Humor can strengthen resilience, hope, and build connection during this journey. Laughter doesn't deny reality -- it makes reality more survivable.
Beyond the physical and emotional distress that comes with a brain cancer diagnosis, the financial challenges can be significant. Love Goes Further (https://lovegoesfurther.org/)grant recipients receive assistance with immediate expenses. This is offered along with gifts of comfort and encouragement designed to make waiting rooms and treatment days a bit more tolerable. These gifts come with our assurance to patients and families that they are not alone. They have a team behind them—our team. No matter how far we go our love goes further.
The Medulloblastoma Initiative (https://mbinitiative.org/)(MBI) is a non-profit organization that raises and channels donations to accelerate research and develop a cure for pediatric medulloblastoma. Bringing together leading scientists worldwide, MBI fosters a transparent, synergistic, and silo-free research environment that enables faster progress toward a cure. In record time, two MBI-funded studies have been approved by the FDA, with one already advancing to patient recruitment and clinical testing — a testament to the urgency, collaboration, and innovation that define MBI’s mission, described by MIT as “a new playbook for curing rare childhood diseases.

StacheStrong (https://stachestrong.org/)is a 501(c)3 nonprofit devoted to raising funds and awareness for brain cancer research. Defeating brain cancer and improving the quality of patients’ lives is our daily focus. StacheStrong was started by two brothers following GJ’s diagnosis of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). After a 25-month battle, he passed away in 2019 at only 30 years old. StacheStrong continues to fight in his memory and for all those facing a similar diagnosis.
Team Schladt Foundation (https://teamschladtfoundation.org/)is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading awareness of glioblastoma and other brain cancers; providing education, resources, and support for the brave warriors and their loved ones battling such diagnoses; and funding research to find new, life-changing treatments and ultimately a cure for glioblastoma.
The Ty Louis Campbell Foundation (https://www.thetlcfoundation.org/)is a nonprofit organization that funds innovative research and clinical trials specifically geared toward the treatment of the most aggressive childhood cancers with a strong focus on brain tumors. Our mission is to help fund the intelligence and technology that will improve long-term survival rates and minimize side-effects for children diagnosed with the deadliest cancers, while helping to care for families when their child is in treatment by providing financial assistance and uplifting experiences.
